During the turmoil in the politics of presidential election last week, a big event also happened in our house: Chirpy went to visit Sunny.
Last time when I wrote a commemorative message for my pet budgie Chirrupy, I mentioned the other two parrots in our house: Chirpy the white budgie, who grew up with Chirrupy together, and Sunny the blue monk parrot. Probably intimidated by Sunny’s size, Chirpy had never played with Sunny before. Last week, however, probably out of the loss of a companion or his long acquaintance with Sunny, Chirpy finally felt comfortable enough to visit and chat with Sunny, on a daily basis. I wonder what they were conspiring in their room.
It's a pity that their conspiracy (or negotiation) never worked out. The Air Force (Chirpy) and the Army (Sunny, with one wing injured and unable to fly) had to go by their own way.
However, no matter how coincidental or appropriate these metaphors may seem, metaphors in real life are not signs or omens; they are just jokes.
2023 is coming to an end -- and the end of a year is a great season for birding! Let’s join the Tamsui River Bird Count on December 16. See you at the Lujiao River Manmade Wetland (鹿角溪人工溼地). Here are some pictures I took in the Bird Count in spring.
Looking forward to the upcoming winter bird count.
